Dear readers,
We’ve been thinking a lot about how reformist ideas are being thought of, expressed, and defended in different sectors every single day—and we believe they come from thoughtful, curious people like you.
So, here’s an invite:
Send us your pitch for The Reformist!
If we vibe, we’ll publish your piece.
We’re looking for fresh, well-argued takes on policy issues and reform ideas—whether it’s about education, bureaucratic reform, digital governance, food security, public health, the economy, or anything else shaping Indonesia today.
If you’ve been turning over an idea in your head, or been wanting to share the back stories of how reforms are being made where you work, now’s the time to put it to paper.
Here’s how to pitch us:
Send us a summary (200–300 words) with:
A proposed title
The issue you want to tackle
Your main argument or recommendation
A quick intro to who you are and why you care about this topic
If we find it to be a good fit, you can submit your full op-ed (about 1,000–1,500 words) to publish on The Reformist
OR, send us your complete draft for review, if you have one already in your folder (we will let you know if we’d like to publish it)
We publish pieces that are clear and grounded in real-world policymaking–or policy thinking—whether you’re writing as a student, a practitioner, a researcher, or just a very engaged citizen.
Why write for The Reformist
While we don’t offer compensation at the moment, if your piece is selected, it will be published in front of a wide, policy-savvy audience that includes changemakers, practitioners, and decision-makers across Indonesia.
It’s a great way to share your ideas where they matter.
A quick editorial term
To maintain clarity and consistency, our editorial team may edit submissions for style, length, and structure. We’ll always aim to preserve your voice and message—we’ll keep you in the loop on any major changes.
