Welcome to The Reformist by Think Policy

What does it take to make change happen? The Reformist ventures to answer this question. Through a biweekly newsletter, we want to take you on a journey to ponder about the factors that contribute to meaningful shifts at the systemic level, through public policy and beyond.

As such, we wish to take you to the ‘balcony’, seeing what has been happening in this country in a way that allows us to think more laterally while diving deep into the ‘Mariana Trench’ and discover what we have yet to learn.

Here’s to a better Indonesia, one reform at a time.

Afu Utami

Chief Knowledge Officer, Think Policy

Hello, from the editorial team!

Hi, we’re Think Policy! If you don’t know us, we are a bunch of passionate people on a mission to improve Indonesia’s public policy ecosystem.

‘The Reformist’ is a version of Insights, one of our babies: a weekly (sometimes biweekly, when life happens) public policy updates, analysis, or commentary.

We take bits from latest news and happenings on the Indonesian public policy scene, thread them together, put them into context, and extract some insights that hopefully would help you understand public policy issues better.

If you already know us, you might be familiar that we used to post on Instagram — well, we still do!

But we decided we wanted to come here for a bit. We want to write, where words are the only thing to be worried about. We want to make a space where you’re in the correct headspace to read, without your brain gasping to be overstimulated or your fingers itching to scroll the bottomless stream of content.

We love social media, but we miss blog.

So, if you long for a long-form, slow, but insight(!)ful content — this is for you!

Cheers,

The Reformist Team at Think Policy
